Cricket's a Glorious Game
As a life-long cricket fanatic Lance has devised an entertainment which celebrates the vast amount of good writing that the game has spawned. The show goes down best with Cricket fanatics but can be enjoyed by those who are more cynical about the game.
Lance brings to life sketches, stories and poems which have been written about the game. He has such a good collection of pieces that "team selection", as it were, is often a difficult matter!
Lance has pieces by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, W.G. Grace, John Betjeman, Lesley Garrett, Richard Stilgoe, P.G. Wodehouse and John Cleese amongst others in his repetoire. He can even perform the whole of A.G.Macdonell's story of The Village Cricket Match (from 'England their England').
The full length show would be two halves of forty five minutes. Lance splits the show into two Elevens: The Ancients and The Moderns. However he is quite used to editing the show down for a one hour format or even performing a few choice pieces after a dinner.
