Cricket
Sticky Wicket
Sticky Wicket is a humorous entertainment about Cricket which has received rave reviews from Cricket Societies and other groups across the country. Lance devised this show as a way to celebrate the vast amount of good writing that has been spawned from his favourite game.
The show contains pieces by Richard Stilgoe, P.G. Wodehouse and John Cleese amongst others, all celebrating the greatest game ever invented. The full show lasts 90 minutes and Lance splits the show into two Elevens: The Ancients and The Moderns with an interval. The show can be shortened to suit your event.
The Follow-On
The success of Sticky Wicket forced Lance to design a second show and so the Follow-On was created. The first half is in the same style as Sticky Wicket with a humorous blend of stories and monologues. The second half however is composed of the story "The Village Cricket Match" from A.G.Macdonell's book 'England, their England' which Lance reckons is the funniest Cricket story ever written.
The Village Cricket Match
Turn back the clock and enjoy the lazy pace of English summer with 35 minutes of unashamed nostalgia celebrating village life. Lance brings alive what he calls the 'the funniest cricket story ever!' Ideal as a light-hearted entertainment to accompany your event or dinner - or as part of a longer concert or one-man show.
Half-Hour History of Cricket
As an alternative to an after-dinner speaker Lance offers a short bluffers' guide to key moments in the history of Cricket. Using a blend of stories, sketches and monologues Lance takes you on a humorous journey from the beginnings of the game to a look at its future. The show can be shortened or lengthened to suit your occasion.
The Poetry of Cricket
The finest and funniest poetry and prose brought to life. Length of programme to suit your event.
